In the middle of October 2013, stepped in an unreal Universe. Our journey start, early in the morning in Amman, the weather in North Jordan was forecasted to be 30 degrees, maybe too hot for hitchhiking, considering that from Irbid to Mafraq we will cross the Syrian desert. We passed the road sign “Al Mafraq 40 km”. Then we saw “Za’atari 5 kilometers” sign, however after 5 kilometers, we saw the same sign again. Finally arrived in a crowded place in which soldiers, children, military vehicles and elders were moving chaotically around a huge billboard which simply stated “Welcome to Za’atari Refugee Camp”. Behind families who have just escaped from the ordeal Syrian Civil War, we headed to a place where we repeat in mind that doesn't exist. Thousands of tents, barefooted children, mothers crying, the dust inhaled is only a dream. The photos taken, hours spent in the refugee camp, the stories of the people, the children we've played are evidence that everything was real.
