I remember in the early 1980's. I remember picking up my first "small press" magazine. It was called "The Horror Show". I remember opening up that magazine and reading the first story and thinking, "Holy Crap!..Where has this magazine been my whole life." That magazine opened up vistas of new and exciting writers and exposing me to new and different forms of writing that change the genre. I felt the same way today when I opened up "Twisted Dreams". Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc has collected a gamut of writers and artists that share a love for horror and the dark side like you have not read or seen. This magazine is a labor of love and quality that has been missing from todays society of "cookie cutter" fiction. The photos by Jeane Trend Hill are as haunting as they are beautiful. The same goes for the photos of J.B. Ronan. He takes glimpses of what we take for granted in our everyday life and gives it a nightmarish quality. A column by Hydra... More > M. Star that doesn't hold back. An interview with the talented Dave Lipscomb.Poetry the likes you have never read. So many great short stories in abundance. The two that stand out are "God's Perfect Asshole" by Joshua Mingo and "Victorian Monster" by Davide Nixon give more chills in the shortest of stories that can fill up a whole novel. This is a magazine to watch for!< Less
