Meridians or Channels are seen as the pathways through which the qi or Energy and blood produced internally or Lymphatic fluids from internal organs circulate throughout the body. The meridians were described in ancient Indian and Chinese earliest recordings on Medicine. Their function in the body is a mixture of nourishment, integration, communication and regulation. As well as providing nourishment, they link the internal organs with various tissues of the superficial areas of the body to make the body an organic whole, and allow for internal adaptation to external changes. Nadi means channel and refers to the energy pathways through which the energy flows. Vaithiyam means Medicine. This form of Medicine in Ancient India was taught as Nadi Vaithiyam. The Ancient Meridian medical practice has both baffle and intrigue as to how and why it works which cannot be answered in modern scientific terms. The goal of this book is the most general introduction to this fascinating science.

Jan 4, 2007"From the Author" Dear Readers My goal in 2006 was to finish this Meridian Medicine Book. It took me 6 years to write this book. I wanted to get the knowledge out so that the entire teachings become available to all. This year I am planning on simplyfying this book so it will be a easy read. I have heard comments some group finding the information very useful and some finding this overwhelming. The ancient teachings were only available in oral forms initially and it took Master Jiro Murai his entire lifetime - I assume atleast 80 years to get this to the level that needed to be passed on to his two disciples namely Master Keto Sensai and Mary Burmeister. Mary spent atleast 22 years on her first book and her entire life was devoted to teaching this to the current teachers who are teaching Jin Shin Jyutsu. I am indebted to their devotion to this art and am privileged to have learnt this art through Mary and her lineage. When I approached Jin Shin Jyutsu to write this book... More > incorporating Medicine, Acupuncture I was told JSJ Inc's goal was to preserve the original teaching as Jin Shin Jyutsu and not to incorporate the other aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine or Western Medical Knowledge. I respect their view which is very valid and decided to write my own version incorporating all the knowledge available in other forms of Medicine. So I decided with my 18 years of Medical Experience, with my background in Acupuncture, Jin Shin Jyutsu and Pranic Healing that I will finish the book and bring this to the next level this needs to take. Now the task this year is to make this book simple so everybody can use this knowledge. I will keep you updated on the evolving book. I am also publishing my Meridian Medicine Pocket Reference Guide in India through Prity Jani who is involved with Indian publication of Jin Shin Jyutsu. This book is the hand book for the 5 day seminar for Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioners. Regards and Best Wishes Vasu K Brown 01-04-2007< Less
