Her father named her Esther; her mother named her Veronica. This started the journey of a child, who thought that she was worthless, unwanted and unloved. She loathed the name Esther, because she thought that the name belonged to a character from the Sanford and Son show; she thought that the woman, who portrayed the character, was ugly, and she felt she was too. The treatment she got from her father, who raped and abused her, added to the feeling she had of being worthless, unloved and unwanted. At an early age she was sent to live with an aunt who lived in Tampa and who taught her a thing or two about life. After returning from Tampa she met and fell in love with a man named John. This started another journey for Veronica, a journey that saw her already jacked up life becoming more jacked up, and taking her to places she had never been before. Veronica was now an adult, but was she ready for the ups and downs of life?
