Direction... Discernment... Decisions... How do you chart your course in a dissonant world? Like carnival barkers on a midway, voices call from every side enticing the unwary down unknown paths to dubious destinations.“ And where does God fit into all of this? I’ve heard He’s got some kind of plan but what is it? How do I find it? What am I supposed to do?” People spend far more time thinking about these issues than
they’d like to let on. Serious questions demand thoughtful answers. In this book, Walter Black takes the reader back well before the time of Christ to an age when the forging of iron tools was still a well guarded secret Through his sometimes humorous study of a Syrian captain’s life changing encounter with God, Walter draws principles of life that will help the reader discover the God of eternity and the doorway of His will.

"AFTER THE NARROW GATE" Walter Black is a gifted musician and writer who has been blessed with a great sense of humor . . . all of this eclipsed by a a keen insight into God's word and a truly tender pastor's heart. I had the opportunity to peruse the book before publication. Actually, I just intended to casually look through it as time allowed. Once I started reading, I was in for the full experience. The responsibility of an scholar is to see the depth in things that others may not see. The responsibility of the poet is much the same - with this exception - it is the poet and the artist who must use their craft to bring light to the shadows - to bring a measure of comprehension that those things that by their very nature are incomprehensible. This is what Walter does with humor, humility, and honesty. I have purchased this book for all of the staff members at PRAISEGATHERING MUSIC to share with their families. I have also sent some copies to friends who have teens and... More > young adults facing new challenges in their lives. If you have ever been asked - or ever wondered about the great question - "OK I am a Christian - so now what?" . . . . it is time to read AFTER THE NARROW GATE Randy Vader praisegathering.com< Less
