I enjoyed reading The Button Man, not only once, but twice. The characters were well developed, the dialogue was well written and there were even a few pearls of wisdom thrown in here and there. I have enjoyed reading some of Mr DePriest's other works and expected a lot from this story. I was not disappointed. If you want to read a story about a wily serial killer and a dedicated detective who match wits and ride a plot twist through to the end, this is your book.

This was the most fun I've had reading about a serial killer. The characters in The Button Man are interesting and engaging, their dialogue sharp and witty. The humour made this story a lot of fun to read. That's not to say that it's all fun and games. The story is chilling at times when dealing with the killer, and when examining the violent and gruesome murders. But following Dan Finney's decade-long investigation of these apparently unrelated murders was fascinating, and I often found myself smiling when witnessing his interaction with the other characters. If you enjoy clever, realistic characters, and natural, humourous dialogue, all wrapped around an imaginative mystery, with a clever twist, by all means buy The Button Man!
