A book for all ages. Historically appealling to the young and a fond memoir to those who may be older. It's a sort of "once you start reading you have a hard time putting it down" kind of book - just one more chapter! Delightfully entertaining and written so that godly principles are proven to be the cornertstone of this nation's foundation. A refreshing story during these difficult times in which we live today. I liked the book. It reminded me of my family. I liked the stories about the early years, including the ship voyage, stagecoach, and train travel. I read the book to my elderly mother and it reminded her of stories she used to hear from her grandfather when she was a young girl. I would recommend the to book to my friends and anyone who likes a nice story. Jessie G. - Los Angeles, Ca.

A beautifully detailed account of one familys transition from old world to new. Loved the stories of family co-hesivness. It also shows that God's wisdom guides you safely through the steps of daily life, and he directs your path, but you can change directions. J. Roth Denver,Co.

Great book. This is like a documentory that gives you a real sense of what it was like to be there. This book does not shy away from the spiritual. The pillar of strength that got them through these difficult times was, after all, not just their faith in God, but a God that is real and faithful. Steve Easley, SC
