Sophie's Adventure in Numberland
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
When Sophie’s team wins in a shutout, the crowd chants, “One to nothing.” This offends the numbers, particularly zero. (Zero is not “nothing.”) The numbers decide to run away. Sophie goes on an adventure to discover where they went, why they went away, from where they came, and how she can bring them back. Her mathematician grandfather guides Sophie to find and convince the numbers to come back. Her grandfather sends her to Ordland, Quantland, and Seqland with her wagon filled with those things that make numbers so useful. The book conveys Sophie's joy for numbers and her quest to bring them back. Order, quantity, and sequence (the three places she visits) are some of the most important things that numbers encode. And don't forget to laugh and find a sense of joy that the author has found with his wonderful granddaughter.
