The puzzles in this book are excruciatingly
tough. Are you up to the challenge? Record the length of time it takes you to complete each puzzle, and write them in the back of the book, and try to beat your score every time. Fastest time wins!
Gad, these puzzles are way beyond "extremely tough", but the real problem is the puzzles have insufficient clues to reach a unique solution. Most of the puzzles I checked had over 500 solutions. These puzzles were kinda fun in a strange way. One can arbitrarily pick any of the possible candidates in a cell, work through all the implications, pick another arbitrary candidate, etc, and almost always reach a solution. Each guess reduces the possible solutions by 50-80%, it takes lots of guesses to get 500 solutions down to one. Puzzle #43 was the only puzzle that solved after one guess (r4c8=2), but did not match author's solution. Puzzle #50 has only 13 clues, when no one has published a valid puzzle with fewer than 17 clues. There were lots of typos, where the given numbers in puzzle did not match the solution. Puzzles #19, #20, #22, #24, #33, #34 had conflicting numbers in a row, column or box. The typo in #41 makes it impossible to solve, since r9c5 cannot contain 1-9. The... More > marvelous thing about electronic publishing is it's so easy to correct typos and re-publish, but what would be the point of correcting the typos? This book does not deserve the minimum rating (one star). I did not find any valid puzzles, though many were quite cute.< Less
