The Hamster Won't Die offers timely advice on holding a wedding (skip the animals in the ceremony unless it's a capuchin monkey, give out doughnuts and Advil for favors) and dating (leave the picnics to the subjects of Impressionist paintings). Whitney Collins takes the subjects that usually make parents cry (colic, episiotomies, endless bedtimes) and creates poems that make parents laugh out loud. Ms. Collins' hilarious take on the mundane (shopping at Walmart, finding a sausage in the bathroom, and arguing with Siri) make this book a must-read for anyone with a slightly-warped sense of humor.

Whitney Collins gives voice to the guilty, caustic thoughts of parenthood and modern life along with their various fantasy remedies, many involving prescription drugs. Spleen vented, milk spewed. Now, who's going to clean up this mess?
