Sunken Treasure is a short collection of some of my favorite pieces from my books and blog, including a production diary from my 2008 role in Criminal Minds, and excerpts from a collaborative fiction I took part in called Ficlets. As a bonus feature, it also includes the never-before-seen script to a sketch I wrote and performed at the ACME Comedy Theater. If you ever wanted to know where to start with all my writing, Sunken Treasure is the book for you.—Wil Wheaton

"GREAT STORYTELLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!3 I started reading Wil Wheaton's blog on and off earlier this year. I can't say I read many blogs or that I read any regularly, but this is one I now come back to. I hadn't read any of Wil's books, and "Sunken Treasure" seemed like a good place to sample his writing. My favorite chapters were those about his childhood - the bad Star Wars trade, the arcade games, auditions. There's something about the way he captures the true sense of those times and weaves in pop cultural references so naturally. In those chapters, I forgot I was reading and was totally drawn into the storytelling. It felt like being there. I also liked the chapter which was an on-set diary about a recent acting job - a very open and engaging account of how it happens and what it's like. Wil's writing is very honest, clever, vulnerable, raw, and unprocessed. He's not afraid to show his doubts or fears, and he's not embarrassed to share his... More > highs. It makes him very real and very likeable. After reading this sampler, I wanted to know more about him. Finally, I simply appreciate the fact that this is an independently published work. I think a lot of people shy away from self-published books because they're concerned about unchecked quality. The writing here is terrific and there is a feel of integrity and control in presenting it. Although I'm very familiar with Lulu, this was my first time actually ordering something from Lulu. The service was smooth, and the delivery was fast. Thanks!...< Less

"Treasure of the Highest Order" Thirteen dollars is roughly the price of a movie ticket in one of the major markets. When you factor in parking, snacks, the dollar you have to put into that crane game even though it's fixed, that thirteen dollars could turn into fifty. That's just for two hours of entertainment. Might I offer a suggestion for a better thirteen-dollar solution? "Sunken Treasure: Wil Wheaton's Hot Cocoa Box Sampler." For the price of one movie ticket, and none of the hassle, one can have more enjoyment than your typical Hollywood film. If you're like me, you'll finish the whole thing in about two hours, and by the end you'll feel enormously satisfied. There's something in here for everyone: fathers, writers, aspiring actors, aspiring film-makers, Star Trek fans, video game fans, music fans, fans of poker-related comedy, nostalgia addicts, and anyone who's ever looked for the best in life. Mr. Wheaton constructs his pieces with an unrestricted... More > glee, the incredible tenor of a man who loves what he does, and wants to impart that same joy onto the reader. What's more, he writes with such a clear voice that you can hear him in your head with every phrase and wording; there is not a moment in this book which is phony, constructed, or aping of another writer's style. "Sunken Treasure" is like having a conversation with the man, and when the book concludes after a discussion of his guest-starring role on Criminal Minds you'll want even more. With "Sunken Treasure," Mr. Wheaton has constructed something unique and wonderful. I'm sure I will be revisiting these pieces well after I've gotten my fifteen bucks worth out of them, and I know I'll be picking up whatever he writes next.< Less

"Great book." I received this book as a gift from one of my friend. It was a great book. One comment is if it came with more details, it would be brilliant. Frank from social bookmarking
