Phelps, Wulfekuhler, Rice, Warren and Other Family Histories, a Mayflower Legacy

The Phelps family came from Britain in 1630. Five generations later, Judah Phelps would serve as a fifer at the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolutionary War.
The Wulfekuhler family came from Germany in 1854. They were among the original settlers of the town of Leavenworth, Kansas.
The Rice family came to America from England around 1638. Later, Reuben Rice fought in the American Revolutionary War. By the middle of the next century, Jasper Rice had moved to Leavenworth, Kansas and was operating the Planters Hotel. Caught in the middle during the American Civil War, Jasper became a force for justice as part of the Underground Railroad.
Other family ancestors from the Wood, McMasters, Burroughs and Spooner families also fought in the American Revolutionary War. A member of a later generation of the Booth family served as a surgeon during the American Civil War.
Finally, Richard Warren came from England to the Plymouth Colony in 1620 aboard the famous ship Mayflower.
