As I've mentioned before, over the years I've written many well received books, each in its way a treatment of the complex beauty, apparent turmoil, and downright mystery of our existence. What you have here is no exception. Well, an exception in one sense. In July I was operated on and after six weeks returned to my schedule of a poem every morning if possible. The poems included (they do again deal with nature, love, birth and death and village life)were all written in the last six weeks. Hence the title July/August. I've dedicated this book to my three surgeons.
