Reynolds, moments earlier the victim of a violent crime, wakes to find he has regained powers dormant in humans for thirteen thousand years. The power to see beyond the veil separating the physical and non-physical realities brings him face to face with his caretaker, the inner voice all humans possess. This first encounter proves to be the first step in his journey of understanding to the human condition. A condition manipulated by two opposing, yet benevolent forces. Unwilling to support either side in this cosmic battle, he embarks on a quest to understand the true motivations of these cosmic forces. His search brings him back to a time before recorded history and then forward to the inevitable catastrophic end of the human race. An ending only he can influence.

Apr 25, 2011Mr. Burdett: Without revealing too much, "The Journey" is a well-written novel that starts to describe a full cycle of Human history and existence. Its excellent story line and well-developed characters take us through some of the most basic questions we've always asked ourselves. I can only anticipate that its sequel will bring that cycle to completion. On a more subjective level, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Journey", and as many others, wasn't able to put it down! Great read!! With its undeniable logic and the support of historical facts and findings, it confirms and strengthens my inner beliefs as well. Thanks a lot Bill; you’ve got us hooked! Harry
Aug 12, 2010"Customer Review: direct e-mail to author." Hello Mr. Burdett Just a quick note to say I've been meaning to send you a note...my, how time flies...so here I am... Excellent, excellent, excellent! I really liked the different and plausible concepts you put forth throughout your book...never a dull moment. And, unlike, Richard Morden, I did like the ending...I kind of expected it at various points along the way but not with the surprise suddenness at the end. My mind's eye was very active throughout the read as well...not something most authors are good at. I can see this as a movie or mini-series... not sure what writers/editors would do to your story though. I'm not sure if you've heard from Chris Edmonds, but he told me he really liked your book as well. I'll definitely pass your book on to others to read and I look forward to hearing when your companion book to The Journey is available, as I knew you were working on in when I last saw you in January. Take care and thank... More > you again for your story! Dan ___________________________________ Daniel R. Schiefen Subject: The Journey Begins Bill, Interesting book. Cliff hanger @ the end. Did these things really happen ? What happened to that gops wife? Did she get well or not? It kept me interested. Was it a dream? My mind wants to know! Or one of my numbers want to know :o) Great Book. Co-Worker Sally Jo @K.< Less
Nov 4, 2009The book was thoroughly captivating. I read it in two nights - and didn't want to put it down (even when I reached the end). A worthwhile read I inted to recommend to others. I hope the sequel is as good. It can't be done soon enough. I just want to know who owns the movie rights.
