This writing is for those who sense a gap between what “organized religion” is and what it could and should be. (And everyone –including agnostics and atheists– lives under some kind of organized religion, some kind of social structure which meets the human need for transcending the mundane, even if it has no public label like “Christianity,” “Hinduism,” or whatever.) The focus here is on the Catholic Church but, really, much of it can apply to other Christian and non-Christian groups who claim to seek the good. In these pages there is no claim to “being right.” Rather, they are an attempt at beginning a real conversation; to challenge religious behavior which, under the guise of normality, may in fact be plain mediocrity, if not selfishness. To those who are not afraid of questions, especially uncomfortable ones–read on.
