"The Janus Plan" Here it is the 11th of January and again in 3 days I have finished reading the book “The Janus Plan”. As was true of the author's other book, “Terror at Tahoe” I read this book at every available moment I could muster in the past three days. It is a remarkably gripping story, so well researched, again with the feeling that I was actually present at each turn of events in the story. I commend these writings of Bill Welch, without reservation, Thank you lulu for making this kind of publication possible through effective application of modern technology. Charles Stone

"Re: interesting preview" Thanks for the critique. You caught a typo that slipped by all the editing and proof-reading. All time lines in my story were carefully researched, and the one in question should have read September 1942 vs 1941. However, I have modified the passage in question so that it is more accurate (and feasable). Thanks again for your comments. William F. Welch

"interesting preview" What I've read in the preview so far is fairly well written and I would definitely recommend this book to people interested in WWII. I'm not too sure about the main character's supposed military record in the book. He's supposed to have gone through jump school sometime between July 1940 and September 1941. By late August '41 they were still running the experimental jump school using a test unit made up of members of the 29th infantry. Not sure how the character would have gone through jump school if there wasn't a jump school available except for a few select people of the 29th. It's even more puzzeling how our hero could have gone to Ranger school in 1941, seeing how the 1st Ranger Bn was the first Rangers unit to be formed in WWII - in July 1942. Well written? Yes. But I think the history buffs will gripe about this one.
