Constance and Alexander

Constance has been living by herself in Cold Spring for three years, ever since the world decided to end. Across the gray and dead Hudson River, in West Point, she hears the red eyed demons howl each night as they awake to hunt for food. Constance has seen some migrants traveling south, leaving the frigid north behind. She has been contemplating leaving Cold Spring; leave the nightly howling behind, leave solitude behind, perhaps leave safety behind or at least the illusion of … but then, one early spring night, someone came to her door, dripping wet, weary, and looking for a night’s stay. Little did she realize that with Alexander's entrance into her life, she was at the beginning of a journey she could never have imagined she would take, falling in love with a man as mysterious as the circumstances that brought them together. Together, they will slowly find the clues to a secret that only they alone can solve.
