The purpose of this paper was to analyze the posture and exercise habits of weight-lifters and provide corrective strategies for the observed postural imbalances. Common weight-lifting muscular imbalances were identified and compared with normal postures using the postural models of Upper and Lower Cross Syndromes and Postural versus Phasic muscles. Corrective strategies consisting of stretching, core and scapular stabilization exercises are given and suggested to add into a weight-lifter’s normal repertoire for future injury prevention. -Jenna Weaver
