‘25 in Mississippi’ is the story of a journey like no other. From an internet café in Southeast Asia to the dusty backroads of Mississippi, the author charts a truly unique, and often comical, adventure. Despite having arrived from Ireland to teach in an elementary school, Priestley soon discovers that his own education is far from complete. This experience is only intensified by the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States: Hurricane Katrina. From prison rodeos and the Delta Blues, to Mardi Gras and Southern Belles, ‘25 in Mississippi’ offers a very different take on the American Dream.
