Parents need to make sure that their children are educated to live in a world of moral choices, and a major part of that involves providing a curriculum which encourages them to think deeply about moral questions before they are confronted with them. This reader, geared toward 4th to 7th graders, includes adapted stories by classic authors, such as Anthony Trollope, Charles Dickens, Leo Tolstoy, and William Wordsworth, as well as missionary accounts and fictional character-building stories. In the reader's appendix are suggested quotations and poems to memorize. The reader's companion study guide (separate purchase) contains exercises in vocabulary, literary terms, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing. The guide also includes detailed passages on vices and virtues which are discussed from a Christian perspective. A study guide to supplement this reader is available at http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/vice-and-virtue-study-guide/11060128.
