‘’Causes of International Conflicts According to Jung’s Theory of Archetypes and the Collective Unconsciousness.’’

Carl G. Jung was one of the key psychoanalytical innovators of the twentieth century. Apart from his wide contribution to psychoanalysis he devoted a significant part of his life trying to understand wider events regarding the international politics. After the First World War Jung began applying his clinical work and theories trying to explain the cause of the irrational behaviour which had driven Europe to the international conflict. Further, during the Second World War Jung again began applying his theories trying to explore the hidden patterns in the human psyche which drifted Europe towards another conflict. In the essay on ‘Wotan’ Jung revealed to the reader his ideas in which he presented the instability of the human mind of the times. In the period of conflict and charismatic leadership in Europe Jung contributed his clinical work and theories of archetypes and collective unconsciousness to explore the understanding of the archetypal causes of war that afflicted the world.
