Apr 8, 2010By David Hopkins This a book that just about anyone can relate to regardless of age, gender, race or any other demographic factor. This book helped me to come to the realization of some things in my past. I believe this book is a great read for young teenage females who are entering middle school (those days that contribute to defining ones identity the rest of their of lives). An overall great read for anyone.
Nov 8, 2009Her Quiet Expedition After reading Quiet Talk there is only one thing to say... WHOA! Ms. Green offers a series of highly expressive, rhythmic emotional pieces. Quiet Talk is more than just a batch of poems. It is a journey through a young woman's life that exceeds at not only entertaining its audience, but also informing and showing the grace of God. What is most impressive and important is the spiritual growth and maturity that is evident throughout her writing from front to back; God definitly makes his presence known in Greens writing. For those who are looking for a captivating story that does not shy away from everyday struggles and reality but always points to the Lord Jesus Christ, then this one is for you!
Oct 15, 2009"well worth the price" This is an excellent collection of poems charting the growth of a young woman into adulthood through the complicated world of love, spirituality, and relationships. Deeply moving and powerful. Green is a writer to watch closely in the years to come!
Aug 19, 2009"The Title Says It All!" This book is well written and such an easy read! "Quiet Talk" is such an appropriate title because every poem makes you feel like it could be your personal story. Yolanda has captured the deepest of emotions as the reader takes the journey from one poem to the next. This was a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone!
Jun 26, 2009"Exciting New Talent" Ms. Green wrote an inspiring book of faith and devotion. The poems are carefully crafted, real and honest. The book muses on topics related to love and romance, spirituality, and living. Though mainly composed of poems, the short story "Passion for the Game" is a stirring and emotional account that gets to the heart at what it means to be a teenager with dreams, the fall from grace and a search and recommitment to a higher power. The poems highlight different sensations of worship, praise, and self-discovery. No doubt, if Ms. Green continues with her writing career, she is bound to become an inspirational voice for her generation. Pleasure to read and highly recommended.
