The Sharon High School football team was not, to put it kindly, known as a powerhouse. In fact, it had been years since the team posted a winning record. Many years, the squad didn’t even muster one Hockomock League win.
In 2011 a new sheriff – rather, coach – took the helm in Sharon. His name was Dave Morse. When he was introduced to the high school staff as the football coach, there was a very audible round of giggles. Few thought that he could possibly bring the program to respectability, let alone have a winning season.
By the end of 2012, the giggle had given way to raucous applause as the Sharon Eagles football team won the Eastern Massachusetts Division III Super Bowl championship.
Follow the road to glorious victory through the many articles that chronicle the day-to-day transformation from underdogs to unstoppable.
