A group of students from Windham High School named themselves the Young Poets. They write from their hearts, experiences, hopes and dreams with a raw honesty that takes your breath away. Their words, determination, and at times sheer survival, will stop you in your tracks and beg you to re-evaluate what is important in education and in life.

"The Streets Hold No Secrets" An awesome account of the lives of the authors. This will bring tears to your eyes, wonder to your mind and fill your heart with hope for the future of all our kids who struggle, daily, to survive. A great book to read but beware, you will never see the world in quite the same way again. S. Gilbey

"Speechless" I am humbled and awed by this work. To know that I once shared space with these students is evidence that I have been in the presence of brilliance. I am one of the luckiest readers in the world in that I have not only been a teacher to some of the poets, but I have been their student. Thank you for sharing your life with me in your time at Windham Middle School and for sharing the depth of your soul with the world through your poetry. This is only the beginning. These writers have made their mark on this world. They know the secrets and it is their time. Bravo. I am so proud of you.
