This article presents the summary of recent research results that propose the model for recognition of lead user and opinion leader characteristics, as well as managerial implications for acceleration of innovation diffusion rate for certain product categories. The proposed concept wishes to reduce the risk in the products and services innovation process and market research, developing the products that correspond with the needs of users, thus increasing the probabilty of adoption in the market.
