Emeritus Professor of Business and endowed chair, the University of Redlands, California (1984-99), where he won awards for teaching and service, A. Keith Barnes authored the academic book, Management Maturity; Prerequisite to Total Quality Management, published by University Press of America in 1994 (still in print) and more than 60 articles and monographs on a wide variety of subjects. He holds a doctoral degree in Organizational Management and an MBA, both earned at Pepperdine University. His undergraduate work was completed in England (Mechanical Engineering) and in Canada (Psychology). Before becoming academic he was a senior executive with the J. I. Case Company which was then a part of the Fortune 500 Corporation, Tenneco, Inc.
A prolific writer, Barnes (pen name Arch Barnes) has published a number of novels in two genres and he writes feature articles for an international magazine on a wide variety of topics in the realm of business, economics and public policy.
