Hilary Williamson grew up in Northern Ireland and moved to Canada as a teenager. She has a M. Math degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and spent 15 years in telecommunications R&D at Bell-Northern Research.
Her story, "What If My Bus Doesn't Come?", was a finalist in the Writer's Union of Canada Writing for Children Competition, 1999. "The Magic Pumpkin" (without Lynne's lovely illustrations) has been read by thousands of visitors every year at Hilary's review site, BookLoons.com since it was established in 2000.
Hilary loves to read and to play the harp, and has been a Kyokushin karate student since 2002. She has two grown-up sons and lives in Quebec, Canada by a lake with her husband and their two cats, Sam and Jazz.
