The Yogi’s scribe – Edward Lawrence – has a résumé that embodies the Sixties lyrics, “What a long, strange trip it’s been.” Trained as a concert musician, he has performed from New England to New Mexico and throughout the Southeast (despite public protest). When arts programs were reduced to a trickle in the Eighties, he received a second Bachelors degree in the sciences and a Masters degree in philosophy from St. John’s College, the Great Books School. A former short-order cook for the mafia, and a church music director for twenty-five years, he’s also taught advanced physics, chemistry, music and philosophy at some of the best schools in the nation. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling and writing children’s books. Currently, Mr. Lawrence shares his passion for physics and poetry with students at Kell High School in suburban Atlanta.
