About
Andrea Scott

Andrea Scott is an award-winning painter who paints mostly landscapes—trees, skies, mountains, grass, water—because "studying the land and the light, playing with the colors, and willing to literally go with the flow leads me to find some serenity in the world. And to my surprise and delight, what I paint transports other people as well." Her paintings seek the place where image dissolves into color and "reality" becomes cascading paint. "My recent work uses a synthetic paper called Yupo, which keeps all the paint on the surface, for even more vivid color, and the slickness of the surface make watercolors, famous for being hard to control, even more wild. So: Watercolors wild and cultivated." In addition to painting, she works as an editor and publication consultant.
