The Norse god Frey is usually described as a "fertility god," but he is much more than just a god of the harvest. In "Frey, God of the World," Ann Gróa Sheffield examines the surviving sources to explore the elements of Frey's nature: legendary king, divine ancestor, granter of prosperity and pleasure, and powerful guardian of the sacred.
Ann has been an amateur student of Heathen Germanic culture and religion since she became enamored of _Beowulf_ in the 1970's. Her next book, an investigation of the runes of the Younger Futhark, has an expected publication date of 2013.
