My father was born in 1911 and in his lifetime he saw the advent of the automobile as well as men walking on the moon. He lived through the Great Depression, and was shaped by it, WWII and Korea. He got into the Army Air Corps based on his skills with Morse Code, even though his poor vision would have excluded him from the military otherwise. Following WWII he transitioned to the newly formed US Air Force and served in the US and Japan. Growing up on bases both here in the US and Japan, I knew I wanted to use a retired military facility for the setting of my book and picked Westover AFB for both its location and history. As the base of operations it combines a completely mundane atmosphere with the mystery of someplace that is off limits to most of those living around it. So set reality aside and step into a future that is just around the corner! Enjoy!
