Brian Pfeifer shares his experience and knowledge of Medieval Combat and armor through these great books. The Dogsoldier Codex is the best gift you can put into the hands of a novice fighter just starting out in the SCA, or other fighting society. It is packed full of easy to follow advice based on real experience, not theory and mysticism. Brian applied the same accessible prose to the foundations of crafting armor in The Yeoman's Guide to Basic Leather Armor. Both volumes are immensely helpful and deserve a place on everyone's real or virtual bookshelf.
Brian currently teaches English to corporate clients in Japan where he studies history, culture, and tea practices. He has also lived and worked in S. Korea and China, giving him unique insight into pan-Asian culture and history. Look for works on these topics in the future.
