Proton Beam Therapy is advanced cancer treatment that is not well known. It is not widely recommended by the medical community because there are currently only five hospitals in the U.S. that have the extremely expensive and complex equipment to administer it. Proton Beam Therapy has been used in the United States since 1990 with success comparable to all other options, but this non-invasive treatment has minimal side effects. It may be beneficial for many other cancers so long as the disease has not metastasized, and even then it may help when used with other treatments. Medicare and most insurance companies provide coverage.

About Fuller Jones

Fuller Jones is a NASA veteran of more than 140 space vehicle launches. After retirement in 1995, he published “The Matthews of Moore,” a comprehensive genealogy work that required ten years of research.

His new book, “Prostate Cancer Meets The Proton Beam” is based on personal experience and will help any man diagnosed with prostate cancer. When diagnosed with prostate cancer, Fuller embarked on a journey down the murky and complex path of choosing a treatment. Most men will find this task extremely difficult, frustrating, and confusing. There are conflicting opinions, even from experts, and there are also many frightening potential side effects.

Any serious study of the various methods for treating prostate cancer will show that “Quality of Life” during and following treatment is very important. When potential side effects of other treatments are taken into account, proton therapy must be given serious consideration. The book “Prostate Cancer Meets The Proton Beam” explains why.
