Louis A. DeCaro Jr. is Professor of History at Alliance Theological Seminary (New York City campus) and the Pastor of Fellowship Chapel, Bronx, N.Y. Among his other publications are religious biographies of Malcolm X and the abolitionist John Brown on New York University Press. His interests range from U.S. history to theology and biblical studies, with a special concern for the intersection of radical politics with evangelical theology exemplified in life and legacy of John Brown. He is married to Michele Sweeting, a gospel vocalist and educator, with whom he has a young son, Louis Michael.
