About
ALAN KENNEDY

Alan Kennedy has worked as an experimental psychologist in Australia, Scotland and France. He currently lives in the South West of France, not far from the city of Pau. He is the author of seven novels, two biographies and several other non-fiction works. His most recent work of non-fiction is a psychobiographical study of the English children's author, Arthur Ransome. Entitled "A Thoroughly Mischievous Person: The Other Arthur Ransome" it was published in September 2021, by The Lutterworth Press. Described by Peter Willis, editor of Signals, the Journal of the Arthur Ransome Society, as "the best piece of writing on Ransome to have come out in years." In June 2022 Lasserrade Press released a completely revised edition of "The Boat in the Bay", together with an afterword describing the background to its composition. Kennedy's latest work of fiction - "The War and Alex Vere" - is set in London, Dundee and Paris in the years leading up to the liberation of Paris in August 1944. Alex and Justine come to terms with a world built on lies and deception in a love story exploring one of the most shocking secrets of life under German occupation. A secret so shocking that Paris decided it was best forgotten. A love story.
