Wenceslas is well known and I chose to make some use of Good King Wenceslas within the texture of my music. Vitus is also well known as his dance is a cure for Tarantula bites, or a condition of restless fidgeting. I gave him a capering ungainly melody which is interspersed with references to the great river Vltava. Sigismund/Adalbert reunited Prague and the Czechs at a time of great unrest, though some think he doesn't deserve either his statue or his stature! His music is grand and imposing as regal music ought to be. < Less |
