Robert Hill Long is the author of 4 other books: The Kilim Dreaming (Bear Star press 2010), The Effigies (Plinth Books 1998), The Work of the Bow (Cleveland State University Poetry Center 1997), and The Power to Die (Cleveland State University Poetry Center 1987). He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and from the state arts councils of North Carolina and Oregon. The Effigies was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award, and Long has twice won the War Poem Prize. His work has appeared in many journals including Best American Poetry, Poetry, Poetry East, Poetry Northwest, Kenyon Review, New England Poetry Review, Manoa, Zyzzyva, Diagram, Green Mountains Review, North Carolina Literary Review and Virginia Quarterly Review.
