TIME AND THE APPLICATION OF TIME

In this monograph, the Ghanaian philosopher, Samuel K. K. Blankson, takes up the question of time. He argues that time and... More > the application of time are two different things in the mind, but often they are conflated in practice. For example, he says if you want to know the true nature of time you cannot rely on the clock, no matter how it is analysed. Under relativity there is no longer a universal time; therefore how we get our own peculiar earth time to programme into the clock is what you want to know. Also he claims that the merger of space and time in the Minkowski theory of “space-time” is tautology; it is not a new way of giving us our earth time as “space-time”. To merge time with space means the time was there already! On the other hand, to argue that there is time already but has now been merged with space is logically untenable---man cannot use mathematics alone to alter natural entities physically. < Less

THE EINSTEIN THEORY OF SPACE-TIME WITHOUT MATHEMATICS

SOFTCOVER PRINT VERSIONThis is a new monograph by the Ghanaian philosopher, Samuel K. K. Blankson, who gave us The... More > Metaphysical Foundation For Physics. In less than a hundred pages, and without mathematics, he launches a blistering attack on Herman Minkowski, the foremost mathematical interpreter of Einstein's theory of Space-Time.
He explains that space-time is a philosophical concept and that mathematicians are ill-equipped to interpret it properly, and gives his own interpretation of space-time as 'relation between points'. The book is written in plain language, and aimed at the intelligent general reader. There is no doubt that if Blankson is right then mathematicians have a major problem on their hands. < Less |

Since we all live our lives according to our basic or individual physio/chemistry, everything and everybody is uniquely... More > different and the only thing that applies to us all is time, but we can only experience its passage. In this book the author’s basic philosophical premise is that all of time is always passing by, thus the one absolutely indisputable fact about time is that it is always passing. The way and manner in which we create our time ensures it can never stop, unless the regular or repetitive motions we rely on as the rates of passing time disappear. Thus the passage of time is all that any ‘Beings’ anywhere in the universe can have as ‘time’. Under relativity, the milieu of the debate began by Godel, time is not seen as running all through the cosmos and therefore the same everywhere; however, every ‘being’ anywhere will have to invent a time system similar to our own, using repetitive motions or cycles, for the passage of time is all that any being can ever know of time. < Less

How Religious Scientists Play Down the Greatest of Einstein's Achievements

Scientists claim that they cannot understand the Einstein theory of relativity without the contribution made by Hermann... More > Minkowski which equates space to time, but the author thinks the Minkowski theory is logically flawed and even unworthy of being mentioned in the same breath as relativity, and therefore calls it "Dream Physics". He points out that Professor Sir Arthur Eddington and Bertrand Russell described the Minkowski theory as fictitious and arbitrary. Instead, the author argues that the original Einstein theory of time was his greatest achievement, and shows how the ancient problems of the passage and continuity of (or perpetual) time can be easily resolved. < Less

THE COMING REVOLUTION IN PHYSICS
By Samuel K.K. Blankson

‘The coming revolution in physics’ is the authors latest monograph expanding his concepts and arguments about the... More > misunderstanding and misuse of time in physics. Blankson argues that since most of us accept that the earth-year is a valid unit of time, we have to accept, also, that time is necessarily discrete, since the year is only one unit of time that has to be repeated for time to continue. Discrete time cannot march, so history is not the march of time but of events. Also discrete time cannot curve, therefore the concept of ‘curved space-time’ by which time travel is said to be a ‘scientific possibility’ is false. By discrete time, the Minkowski 4-D geometry cannot reflect physical reality; and since his equation s=ct has sunk deep into physics, the philosopher thinks physics is heading for another revolution in the very near future. < Less
