Asif Barkhiya was born in Secunderabad, India. It was during his schooling period that he developed an inclination for poetry.
Reading through his collection of poems one wishes that one knew more about the poet than he is a young man, and a non-academic who made a humble beginning earning his living as a footwear salesman, and currently cherishes his successful career working as a secretary in a pharmaceutical company in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Short, straightforward, the poems collected here, both thematically and stylistically sound neo-classical. They take us to a world that we have left behind, that is to say they make us look at our own world from a different perspective. The imagery used in the poems reveals the creativity of a young poetic soul, and deserves the benevolent attention of the critics.
Barkhiya has entered the realm of creativity with an ease of his poetic talent, and his poetry deserve a place in the literature of a new generation.
