Wendy Tavares has been winning awards for writing since she was a child, first being published at the age of 13. The majority of her early work was poetry, something she says is in the nature of all fat girls to write. "Something in the cellulite drives us."
Wendy currently lives in Washington state with her husband, Christopher, and their son, Matthew, whom she credits as being her inspiration and best source of material for her later foray into children's stories. She also blames her cats as being the primary hinderances to getting anything done.
