Reservoir, trap and source risks are evaluated, and illustrations on how inversion can reduce these exploration risks, both in mature as well as immature areas in NOCS- North Sea. Utilization of visualization techniques (f.inst. 2D to ”pseudo” 3D and attribute extractions).
All the lines illustrated here are found in the inversion packages available for North Sea Round 2002.

The field belongs to the Vingapiakutinskaya oil province. It is located between two mature fields, Vingoyakhinskoye and Vingapurovskoye. Surface infrastructure is well develpoed in this area. The terrain is flat with small rivers, lakes and low lands.
Scope of study is to perform a 3D seismic interpretation data, horizons and faults which will include;
1. Analysis of critical faults in the reservoir and at the external borders of the reservoir.
2. Verification of seismic interpretation results, horizons and faults definition in the critical areas
3. Short report describing the performed verification work, comments with examples of QC findings. Make a description of the geological and geophysical limitations in the data.

However a few elements are found to be co-existent in all companies. Reservoir, trap and hydrocarbon risk has found to be main elements subject to risking. The different companies put more effort into reservoir risking vs others more into trap or hydrocarbon risking. Elliminating these smaller differences, one can find that understandment of geological processes influence the amount of risk one puts into either of these three elements. What risk factor is more critical than the other, is like discussing the egg and the chicken, but one finds that the factors are all dependant upon each other, but the first geological process to start up, is developement of reservoir and non-reservoir sections, as well as organic matters.
