SUPERFRONT: An Architect-Managed Space for Architecture SUPERFRONT is a new space for architectural experimentation, located in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Inspired by artist-run art spaces such as temporarycontemporary in London or Brooklyn's recently evicted DUMBA collective, SUPERFRONT operates as both an architectural studio and gallery. Archeography Project, 2nd ed_discount
This catalog gathers the work of four projects that took place at SUPERFRONT from Fall 2008 to Spring 2009. The Archeography Project pairs an emerging architect or designer with a choreographer to generate the material for a singular or repeated performance. All aspects of orchestrating a performance are at stake—the built parameters of boundaries and floor planes and seats, as well as the movements and effects generated by performers. The series presumes that precepts of movement may act authoritatively upon architecture and, conversely, that architecture may operate within a logic of performance.
