The Latchkey Kids are a group of friends in elementary school who named themselves after finding out that each of them often goes home to an empty house. My books often deal with issues that real children face: absent parents, racism, bullying and haunted classrooms. As a teacher I don't like talking down to children in my classroom and my books reflect that. My stories often show a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred and where doing the right thing often means breaking the rules and fighting authority.
