Are you lost?... not lost as in "I don't know where I am at, lost." Rather generally confused about what is coming next and why is life got like this, lost. It is my simple belief that most people need help. Not just the groceries out of the car help... real help. They live lives of quiet desperation, or maddening confusion. Most people are either lost or blindly following leaders that are equally lost, but just not publishing that fact. And the sad part of it all is that they have no idea how life got “that way.” Stories of camping, hiking and “mild adventures” are liberally sprinkled through the text to both keep the reader awake, and provide some examples of the ideas and concepts. But on a larger scale the stories provide “real life” reference points that may help the reader find out how the world really works.

First Contact... the Lizard Way

By way of introduction, my "handle" is Doc... not a medical guy type Doc, or a psycho-babbling Doc... just Doc, as in, "What's up Doc?"

I don't know if it was peer pressure, or the lack of salary thing, but I did eventually get a real "Doc" degree, but I was called Doc long before that event occurred. Everybody in our hiking band had a name... Basco because he drank the stuff, Crazy Dave, Squirrel, and the list went on. Normally names were assigned by the group after some epic event or "I almost died thing."

We finally decided to start writing stuff down, before we forgot it all, or a terminal event... skiing, climbing something too high, and the list goes on.

"The Lizard Way" is our book of events and lessons and our understanding of how the world really works. Hope you like it...
