If you've read and enjoyed any of the new Doc Savage books by William Patrick Murray - the author who has help to resurrect the Pulp Adventure in the 21st century, then I highly recommend this book. The author Dafydd Neal Dyar has a great and varied amount of life experiences that he brings to the story. And what a story!! Taking place in the late summer, early fall of 1942, it places precisely at the beginning of one of the darkest times of American political civil rights history - Executive Order 9066 - The Relocation and Internment of all Japanese-American citizens. World War II is fully underway in both the European and Asian theaters. The threat of the "Yellow Peril" both from China and Japan are influencing the lives of every American citizen. Darius Dungannon "Dare" Devlin and his crew are placed in the cross hairs of this threat due to old ties and bonds. While this is in actuality the first in the tales of the "Supreme Adventurer" the story... More > itself sets the scene as one among many tales that have already happened and, have in fact, been published thus foregoing the normal character origin and development. Also, the author has planted his characters firmly in the Newton-Wold Universe with many subliminal and NOT so subliminal references to other great creations. I think you'll enjoy this story...and hopefully, we'll see more in the future. We definitely need to find out about the Hell-Bat< Less
