It's time.
I have heard, countless times over the years, that cartoonists aren’t “real” artists. Yet, if you think on it a moment, a cartoonist (comic artist) is responsible for knowing how to draw anything. Literally, anything. From horses to aliens, Frisbees to flying saucers. Not many artists can claim that they specialize in ‘everything’, now, can they?
Well, we do.
Comic books, graphic novels, and other cartoon illustrated works, have found a special niche in the hearts of not only youth, but adults as well. Comics like WANTED:HERO, which have started a revolution in online graphic entertainment, by providing a traditional comic book in ‘digital’ form, to download and enjoy for mere pennies. It is a niche of communication to rival the spoken word, as stories, message of sensitivity and importance can be conveyed in non-threatening or intrusive ways, and yet have a lasting impact on its reader. It engages the mind and involves the reader in ways even a complex article cannot command. It creates a common ground between two people, such as a parent and a child, and starts a thread of commonality they might have lacked before.
All this…from a comic book.
There is a growing need for artists and creators, to stand up and share their talents, to speak what so many have been afraid to say due to ‘political correctness’. I’m not talking about posting or creating ‘trash’….things that offend a good mind and heart---I’m talking about decent, sound, correct principles, that offend those who simply want to ‘shock’. This is a time when creators should share their works with the public, to say what needs to be said and help those in the communities around the world. With today's technology, we are in the strongest position, where the eyes of the world are brought to you. Now the only question is:
What are you going to say?
Well, we do.
