Bahamas LUG Support Project Underway.
Well, after several meetings/discussions lately, the BS LUG support project is now underway. ( http://bslug.org )
The plan works like this:
Take an original digital photograph. Reduce it to 1024x768 and to 800x600.
Place the 800x600 image on ourmedia under a CC BY-SA license where it can be downloaded at no charge.
Place the 1024x768 and the original on lulu for sale.
One third of all monies cleared from lulu sales will go to the lug - for lug projects.
One third of all monies cleared from lulu sales will go to a local "charity" - currently to technology and education at a local orphans home.
One third of all monies cleared from lulu sales will go to the photographer.
When sales from the image (in either resolution) result in $50 cleared, the 1024x768 image will be put under a CC BY-SA license.
When sales from the image (in either resolution) result in $200 cleared, the original image will be put under a CC BY-SA license.
So, Buy today! Support the Bahamas Linux Users Group. Support needy children in the Bahamas. Support the growth of the Creative Commons Share-Alike pool of works. Support "Artists." All for as little as one dollar. If you can't afford a dollar, feel free to use the 800x600 version from ourmedia. ( http://www.ourmedia.org/ )
all the best,
