Richard Byfield (1598–1664), was a Calvinistic and Reformed Puritan, an ejected minister, and sat on the Westminster Assembly.
“The Light of Faith and Way of Holiness” is a Christian manual showing the path the Christian must take in order to believe, strive, earnestly contend and suffer in the present age in which he lives for the glory of God and the praise of Jesus Christ.
Byfield teaches how one is to live in all estates, conditions and degrees of relation according to a true and real biblical faith. He works from the text, “And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall enter in it,” (Isa. 35:8).
This is a classic puritan work that is applicable for all ages of Christian growth.
