This piece was inspired in Chinatown's district, in lower Manhattan (New York), and can be extended to all Chinatowns, among other cities of the world. Every Chinatowns have the traditional culture and an own ancient ambience, keeping it undamaged inside of the great city. In addition, this tradition is enhanced from American’s music, which gives to this part of NY an unique colour among the world. So in this piece are combined mainly two kinds of Music, and two different styles, that focus in on unique goal, which is achieve an unique musical context, which would be: oriental tradition and american music. CHINESE TRADITION: Pentatonic (mainly) chords and scales, whole-tone and synthetic scales. AMERICAN MUSIC: Used Jazz with ballads, Coltrane’s harmony, and some Rock references. Some fragments can appear combined by diferent languages and notation styles, using a modern language, and may be written (for moments) the Wind Band more Rhythm section.
