I'm a late writer. Retired. Living in the suburbs of the Central Coast, north of Sydney. My eight grandkids and my friends need exciting things to read. Like many, I get frustrated with the 'life' we've created: our socially accepted pathways, our waste, our inequity. I worked with computer systems most of my life and have always been interested in the sciences - especially physics and astronomy. Science fiction is my genre of choice to read. It provides many different opportunities to whinge about something and propose solutions or simply put someone/thing into a strange place and see what they do. My first novel, First Step, is listed here. I wanted to see what would happen if we had safe, easy technology that gave us access to free energy and the opportunity to settle another world. As I was writing it, I realised I had too much for one book and split it in half. The second book, Step Out, is finished and out with friends and family for a robust critique. It raises the level of this disruptive technology from individuals to governments. I think the story rides on the shoulders of Australia's PM, but it's a team effort. I'm writing the third in the series now. Step Back rounds off the core story of the formation of the StepWorlds. I have other projects in which I experiment with genre and style. Fantasy and litRPG look interesting, as do books for my grandkids - probably from eight years onwards. We'll see. Enjoy my work, and let me know what you think!
